EvaluationProject Submissions

Summary

Two forms, both available on cats.wada.org/enrolment :

  1. Hubs: Story publishing.
  2. Participants: Team formations.

Deadlines

The deadline for both forms is December 15th.

Allowing a grace period for any technical issues, we will accept submissions until December 19th, although these will be marked as late. Team forms will close on Dec 19 (hard-stop). Any hub submissions after December 19th will be considered to have missed the deadline.

Context

What a journey it has been. And yet, this is only the beginning. Over the last weeks, hubs have been organising with local teams to engage with their local contexts from a fresh perspective. Participants have walked their neighbourhoods and identified their own areas they want to work on. Teams have formed around a common purpose. Now, they’re starting to take the first steps toward that new potential they’re seeing, distilling those insights into a technical build process. Some teams may be aiming for a prototype, some for an MVP (minimum viable product). In all cases, these projects, which are part technological, and part social, may grow to become interventions into their systems of place. Like acupuncture for the body, these teams, in deep relationship with their communities, are unlocking new pathways to walk toward the futures they collectively desire. 1

First Submissions

At the beginning we reflected to you your own question, “How is this hackathon different?” Now is time to hear from those that felt called to respond. In order to organise your contributions, we will re-open two forms in the same enrolment app  you’ve used before, for the two primary stakeholder groups of participants and hubs.

  1. PARTICIPANTS: Team Enrolment: this is the place to officially register your team.
    1. Here we will ask you about the purpose that has called your team into action, and your self-defined problem statements.
    2. This will also be a chance for you to confirm which hub you’re related to, if that applies.
    3. Please only submit your team once! So long as your team has submitted one form, and you are part of that team, you’re done. Just select one person from your team to make the submission, or do it all together, but only submit once. Please do not duplicate your team submissions.
    4. Each team submission will be reflected on the globe .
  2. HUBS: Story Publication: for hubs, this is the place to publish your story.
    1. This is where the “SEE STORY” button on your hub card on the globe will lead to.
    2. This is the first point of reference for evaluators to start learning about your hub’s projects.
    3. Evaluators are short on time. This is the chance to hook them in, generating interest in your projects, and making visible the work happening on the ground.

Deadlines

In order to maintain boundaries and respect those that are participating in the programme, we are going to close these forms on a specific date. We are confirming and fixing the following timeline:

  1. December 15th: Final deadline for both Team and Hub form submissions
  2. December 19th: Teams enrolment form will close (hard-stop). Any hubs that have not yet uploaded their first story will be marked as having missed the deadline.
    1. Hubs can still iterate their story after that point, with no negative consequences. This is encouraged. Please see story publishing.
    2. Hubs that made the official deadline of 15th will be identified favourably. The deadline of December 19th is a grace period for those that encounter technical issues and will be marked as a late submission. Submissions after the 19th will be considered as not having met the deadline.
    3. We have to enforce this deadline to leave evaluators enough time to see how your stories change and evolve. Remember, this is just the beginning.
  3. January 6th: This is the deadline for evaluators to select the top 3 teams from each place.
  4. January 9th: This is the deadline for evaluators to select the top 5 teams from the whole programme.
